Nova Atlantic maintains a focus on strategic endeavors associated
with the development of Methanol worldwide.
Methanol
is a liquid at ambient temperature and is developed from stranded
natural gas reserves. As the indigenous reserves in North America
and Europe decline, Methanol and its derivatives will become an
increasingly viable energy import " tool”.
Distant reserve development plans can incorporate Methanol-based
technology for development and for transportation. While LNG
(Liquefied Natural Gas) is useful to develop larger fields, Methanol
and its derivatives can be used for smaller-field development (field
sizes less than 500 BCF). New technologies, clean burning turbines,
and favorable storage characteristics will allow a key Methanol
derivative, Dimethyl Ether (DME), to become a significant, clean
burning energy alternative.
Nova Atlantic develops natural
gas solutions for
Methanex.
Our focus is to optimize and develop low-cost natural gas supply for
Methanex plants now and for new complexes in the future.
